Wheelchair Transport

Mobility Assistance That Supports Equal Access to Care

Corinthian Transportation, Parking & Valet’s healthcare valet services typically include wheelchair transport for patients, visitors, and staff who may require assistance getting in and out of their vehicles and into a wheelchair or other assisted device.

Our valets pass thorough background checks and are trained in:

  • Greeting drivers and passengers, opening car doors, and inquiring if assistance is needed.
  • Proper lifting techniques as well as the use of transfer boards and hoists if available.
  • Wheelchair use, including setting up the chair, adjusting seatbelts and footrests, providing warm blankets when needed.
  • Handling adaptive accompaniments, such as walkers, oxygen tanks, and service animals.
  • Escorting patients, upon request, to the lobby or appropriate admissions desk.
  • Assisting elderly and disabled patients and visitors.
  • Directing guests to wheelchair-friendly routes and entrances.
  • ADA and HIPAA compliance.
  • Emergency preparedness, including CPR, AED use, and more.
  • Sensitive, respectful, welcoming customer service for all.

Whatever your healthcare campus wheelchair transport needs, Corinthian can help.

We Can Drive and Park ADA-Compliant Vehicles, Too

Depending on your needs, Corinthian can provide staff trained to handle Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) equipped with hand controls, ramps, and lifts so that these vehicles can also be valet parked.

When a disabled patient, visitor, or staff member is ready to leave the facility, our valets retrieve their vehicle promptly and assist, when needed, with safe transfer back into the vehicle.

At Corinthian, we consider valet parking for guests in wheelchairs and with other mobility challenges and special needs a basic courtesy that we would extend to anyone—but also a privilege. It is a community service that gives us satisfaction because access to healthcare is a right that sometimes requires a little extra attention to be carried out.
